    Teaching Fellow Coaching Agreement

    Overview
California Teaching Fellows Foundation (CTFF) offers complimentary life coaching to support employees in achieving personal and professional goals. Coaching is a structured yet flexible process that fosters self-discovery, goal setting, and overcoming obstacles.

    What Coaching Is and Isn’t
Coaching helps individuals assess challenges, set goals, and take action. Like a sports coach, a life coach provides support, encouragement, and accountability but does not offer therapy, consulting, or counseling. Coaching focuses on the future rather than the past and empowers individuals to create their own solutions.

    Coaching Process

    You can expect:

    • In-person, online, or phone sessions with a set schedule
    • A trusted relationship with your coach
    • Accountability and goal tracking
    • Challenges that push you beyond your comfort zone
    • Self-assessments, action steps, and mindset shifts

Challenges and frustrations may arise, but your coach is committed to guiding and supporting you.

    Roles & Expectations

    Coach Responsibilities:

    • Provide open, honest, and authentic communication
    • Focus on your personal growth and goal achievement
    • Challenge and support you while maintaining a professional relationship
    • Refer you to external services if necessary
    • Track overarching themes from sessions for program improvement, but no specific notes or personal details will be shared

    Client Responsibilities:

    • Stay committed and follow through on action plans
    • Respond to check-ins and complete assigned tasks
    • Disclose any conditions that may impact coaching
    • Communicate openly and honestly
    • Maintain a positive mindset and accept accountability

    Confidentiality

Your coaching sessions are confidential, with the following exceptions:

    • Safety concerns for yourself or others
    • Mandated reporting requirements or legal obligations
    • Violations of CTFF policies or applicable laws

Your coach will document high-level themes from your sessions for program improvement, but no specific notes or personal details will be shared.

    Program Logistics

    1. Appointments – Coaching appointments may be made by contacting your coach directly or through Dream@ctff.us. Sessions occur weekly or bi-weekly (8 total).

The cost of these services is significant, valued at approximately $520 or more, but is fully covered by CTFF as part of our investment in your personal and professional development. Accordingly, you will not be compensated for your participation in the program.

    • Coaching is not a substitute for therapy or medical treatment.
